Bedard, Kurowicki & Co., CPA’s, PC is pleased to announce that Edward P. Portice, CPA and Darlene Shaffer, CPA/ABV/CFF, CVA have been promoted to Principals within the firm.

Edward P. Portice, a resident of Hope, NJ, joined BKC in 2007 and is a graduate of Bloomfield College with Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Ed brings over 30 years of experience and his professional certifications include Certified Public Accountant and Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Ed specializes in working with small business clients and has many years of experience working with Boards of Directors of various corporations and non-profit organizations.  Ed is also the past President of the New Jersey Association of Public Accountants (NJAPA) as well as a past President of both the Essex/Hudson/Union and Morris/Sussex/Warren Chapters of the NJAPA.

Darlene Shaffer, a Somerset County resident, has been with BKC since 1996 and is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with Accounting Emphasis.  Darlene has over 25 years of experience and her professional certifications include Certified Public Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst, Certified in Financial Forensics, and Accredited in Business Valuation. Darlene is also trained in Interdisciplinary Collaborative Law. She works with a specialized focus in non-profit organizations, estates and trusts, and valuation and litigation support. Darlene belongs to numerous associations and has many years of experience working with Boards of Trustees of various non-profit organizations.  Darlene is the immediate past President of the Board for Hunterdon Helpline, Inc. and a member at large of the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group.
