NJDOE & SDA APPROVE $450 MILLION IN SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION FUNDS

New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) and the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (SDA) announced the approval of nearly $450 million in school construction funds to address critical facilities needs in 261 school districts throughout the state.

The NJDOE provides additional funding for school districts for the 23-24 school year. The funding will provide relief for construction projects, to help provide safe and modern learning environments. Additionally, “the state-funded grants represent at least 40 percent of eligible costs for projects in the Regular Operating Districts (RODs) to address health and safety issues and other critical needs”. 13 Hunterdon County and 9 Warren County school districts are among the 261 districts throughout the State of New Jersey receiving construction funding. Many valued officials, such as the Commissioner of Education, SDA CEO, and others comment on the importance and benefits of the funding.  Learn more here: https://www.nj.gov/education/news/2023/MurphyAdministrationApproves450MillionDolllarsinSchoolConstructionFunding.pdf
